Birthdays are celebrated all over the world. Some traditions are fairly similar from country to country: candles, cakes and birthday wishes, birthday games and pinches for good luck. And some are different. Try something new in your birthday. Here are some different customs from other countries.
Argentina: As in many Latin American countries, one of the most important birthday parties is a girl’s fifteenth. When girls turn 15 they have a huge party and dance the waltz first with their father, and then the boys at the party.
China: birthday child begins the party by paying respect to their parents and receives money as a gift. Then they invite all their friends and relatives for a lunch and noodles.
Mexico: The piñata is a big hollow animal made out of papier Mache. It is filled with goodies and hug from the ceiling. The birthday child is blindfolded and hits the piñata until it breaks open and then all the children share the sweets.
Japan: The birthday child wears new clothes to mark the occasion. Certain birthdays are more important than others and these are celebrated with a visit to the local shrine.
Egypt: The Egyptian child invites his or her friends for a party outdoors by going to a cafe and celebrates in it and having fun.
Denmark: A flag is flown outside a window to show that someone who lives in that house is having a birthday. The presents are put around the child bed while sleeping as they see them when they wake up.
India: Indiana child celebrate their birthday at school with their colleges. They give out chocolate and sweets to them.
Spain: They celebrate by singing a song and eating birthday cake. The first bite is for whose birthday. They don’t celebrate by a present its more about the person them self.
By all those ideas you may choose one of them and do it as something new to do it in your birthday. Or even each birthday do one of them. Your birthday is an important day for you and for those who love you so makes it special.
