The Red Sea is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of the underwater world ,because of its extreme beauty. The Northern Red Sea region is amongst the coasts of Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Eritrea. The Red Sea is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia. This large natural channel is around 1900 kilometers length, between 100 to 300 Kilometers breadth and about 500 meters depth.

The connection to the ocean is in the south through the Bab el Mandeb,  surrounded by the world’s largest expanses of sand. The position of the sun at various times of year is what gave the red sea its namesake, makes the reef different colors like red, yellow, orange, and light green. The Red Sea and its island make a National Park. Ras Muhammad has sometimes called it an underwater “Garden of Eden.”

The formation of the Red Sea (and thus also the Northern Red Sea) occurred over the course of many millions of years. This formation occurred due to plate tectonics and tectonic activity below the earth’s crust, causing the two continents of Arabia and Africa to split apart. 30 million years ago the Red Sea was closed at its southern end and open on its northern end, it opened up into the allowing Atlantic species to enter and breed there. Therefore many Atlantic species arrived to the Red Sea and they prospered. Therefore, about 10 million years later the earth shifted and closed the northern end and opened up the southern end. The Red Sea has fish and animals from both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. This marine life living in the Northern Red Sea is also considered a wonder in itself. And considered the richest coral in the world. Includes 1,100 species of fish, of which about 10% are endemic, the largest number of fish species in proportion to any other body of water in the world, and 400 different types of coral. An amazing fish that lives on the in the water is the bright-red lionfish. Another creature that lives in the water is a beast they call “George” he is a Sea Monster. The earliest exploration of the Red Sea was conducted by Egyptians, Most archeologists believe that they were the first to attempt a mission of exploration in the Red Sea; they explored the Red Sea in order to establish commercial routes to Land of Punt located the south-east of Egypt. The Egyptian government decided to create the Ras Mohamed National Park to protect the ecosystem of the Northern Red Sea. Now, the Northern Red Sea is one of the most famous diving destinations of the world.
