Traveling to Costarica Greenest Country

The islands in the Gulf of Nicoya with a penultimate link in a chain of small nations that together comprise the isthmus of Central America. Along with the Caribbean and the Pacific, Costa Rica ranks first in the Happy Planet Index and is the “greenest” country in the world. It is the only Latin American country included in the list of the world’s 22 older democracies Costa Rica was discovered by Christopher Columbus who was The first European to explore Costa Rica in 1502, on Columbus’s fourth and final voyage to the New World.

Of all the Spanish colonies, Costa Rica was the least influence as a colony. It was initially a tough and unpopular place to settle, as the High Mountains and swampy lowlands had impeded the migration of the advanced cultures. Archaeologists now know that civilization dates back 10,000 years in Costa Rica for thousands of years before the arrival of Columbus, and evidence of human occupation in the region.
